Better if tomorrow never came, and the transit in between night and dawn would suspend into eternity.

Arright people!!!! It's on, oh yeh, it is most definitely on. Thursday, November 02, 2006 i wrote a post here about the missing take on in-depth distribution of quality- and alternative christian music here in Norway. And ladies and gents:

it's on

We, Ole Jørgen Reindal and Jan Kristian Andresen have just recieved the first shipment of CDs from one of the record companies we have been in contact with, Sally Forth Records, a dutch label with brilliant artists like This Beautiful Mess, The Spirit That Guides Us, At the Close of Every Day (sub-labeled to Volkoren) and many more. We will here list which bands and which releases we currently have in stock.

And so it is with tremendous sense of pleasure, joy, excitement and good-good feelings of happy-happy-joy-joy we announce the first catalogue of Musikkapoteket (Mind you we will prolly have to do a rewrite of some of this when we go online... i mean, online-online:')

This Beautiful Mess
Away With The Swine

95,-

This is an EP of songs that didnt make it to their previous album, Temper the Winds to Shorn the Lamb. Both albums are beyond beautiful, and sincere to the core. Where Temper is gracefully dark Swine is tinted with a great deal more of optimism. The bitter-sweetness, melancholy and the immense sense of yearning, however, is prominent in both. This is truly a m-u-s-t.

The Spirit That Guides Us
We Are Under Reconstruction part 1

125,-

we are under reconstruction part 1. summarizes the first five years of tstgu. “we are...” is not a best of-album but new record on which both new material is introduced and older material is reinterpreted. Given the diversity of periods the material is taken from it is a givven that that reflects on the diversity in the songs as well. Ranging from Pop-Punk to Hardcore to minimalistic melacholia this album would work out for both those who know tstgu from before, due to the new tracks and the new interpretations, and to newbies as an introduction to the musical landscape that is tstgu.

The Spirit That Guides Us
North And South

125,-

The latest all-new-material album tstgu released (released before Reconstruction pt1). Compaired to their first full-length album, “the sand, the barrier” tstgu have made a huge step forward: fatter & more accessible than their debut, without resorting to clichés. The album is skipping elegantly between an indie take on rock and roll to experimental hardcore. All done gracefully, and with an in-your-face-attitude.

The Spirit That Guides Us
We Are Under Reconstruction part 2

140,-

Basically a DvD founded on the same principle as part 1... only it's a DvD xP

“we are under reconstruction part 2. summarizes the first five years of tstgu live and on the road.
we’ve always been a work in progress. there never was a master plan or final destination, but all of us have always shared the same vision. we probably didn’t realize it then, but ever since we’ve just done what we like doing. when we recorded our first songs, we had no clue of what
was ahead of us. we wanted it to be all about the music, but it turned out to be so much more than that. the dedication of the fans, hailing from all over the world, the heartfelt sing-alongs, the intense live shows – it felt like we were part of something that was bigger than us. it’s been a privilege to witness how our songs have become your songs.
- Love tstgu”

At the Close of Every Day
The Silja Symphony

125,-

Silja is their first full-length release. Inspired by the Estonia accident, and dedicated to those who were lost therein. Atcoed is brining the realms of Indie and Singer-Songwriter together in harmony. You should check it out. Love to put this album on in late-night social gatherings, cos the record doesnt demand your attention, but has a great soothing quality, and every once in a while someone goes “wow, what are we listening to?”

At the Close of Every Day
Leaves You Puzzled

155,-

This is an interesting piece. Not a new album as such, but their latest release none the less. Puzzled is a remix album of previous atcoed works. However: this is an electronica album. Some of you might recognize names like Styrofoam, Diefenbach and Hood... others might not. Either way this is a really cool album, the electronica elements pulls out a new experience of the songs, and listening to it is really feeling like chasing moonlight. And as far as i know this whole secular-bands-remixing-christian-artists-deal is pretty unique.

Further note: the album comes in a beautiful box with a real puzzle! this is a limited edition of course.

Inspired by/similar bands: Efterklang, 65 Days of Static... etc (ask miriam cave for more funny names)

Glorybox
Pale Blue Light EP

90,-

A fairly old piece of wonder. The legendary shoegazeish danish group had released “Vacuum” (no longer in production) an inovative expression dominated by walls of noise, before they released the Pale Blue Light EP. Here they strip it down to the mere core of the individual songs to an almost acoustic quality. Not acoustic in the strictest sense tho. Glorybox and PBL EP is a piece of christian underground music history, and you should own it -.-

So there you have it.
Note that we are required to fill out one more form for Brønnøysund Registeret to be allowed to sell these babies, thus we will not be able to mail this as of yet, but if you are able to get a hold of me (Ole J) in person (or by phone) we'll see where we stand regarding those issues, and what we can do to accomodate your musical needs. And if youre interested call me, mail me, email me, msn me, comment here, do whatever, and ill put you on the mailing list, which will prolly be the primary way to hear from us and order from us (besides face to face) until we can build a site. If it is any comfort the mail will prolly be written in half-assed norwegian instead of half-assed english.

No thanks to:

- we hate you all so very, very much.

Special thanks, however, goes to:

All the guys and girls from Hamar/Stavanger/Oslo//Filladelfia Oslo/IMI-Kirken//cyberspace who encouraged us to go through with this.

How come its always like this!?!

you have the entire year ahead of you, but you decide to push reading until the week before the exams -.- pisses me off. Its a conspiracy i tell you. Cos every year i start with "hahaha! THIS YEAR IS THE YEAR. the year ill do it the right way. Ill read a little portion every day, and come june i'll show those bastards what im made of!!"... and at the end its always "wth? is it summer already?".

Maybe if they turned school into sci-fi series, this wouldnt happen -.-

Evaluate your own ability to read school related material
I R teh über r34d3r, i read it all
I read most of it, and pretty balanced throughout the year
i do ok, better than you anyways
Well at least ive read the compendia before i start the exam preperations
skimmin the headlines
I buy the books the week before the exams
I just want the money they give me, ok? give it a rest

I've been ordering alot of DVDs from various online stores lately. So a friend of mine takes a look at the small pile in the mailbox "dude, this is just sci fi!", and for the most part he was absolutely correct. A few of these purchases was a result of me and another friend spending home alone watching Speed and drinking beer, and a sudden rush of manlyness decended. So when sci-fi meets mandom, for better or for worse, we get:

Demolition Man (1993)
Sylvester Stallone (the good-guy) and Wesley Snipes (the bad-guy) are put through Cryo Prison, wakes up and has it out in a great futuristic sterile utopia called San Angeles. Good deal of fair action, alot of really funny situastions and dialogue on the contrasts between the ewul society of 1996, and the Mr.Rogers-fan-fiction-future of the mid-21st century. Recommended.

The Running Man (1987)
Second up is Arnold Schwarzenegger in the picture losely based on the Stephen King book which he wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. Society is being controlled by a police state through censorship, propaganda and manipulation of the media, enforced through arms. Ben Richards (Arnold) was a cop framed a patsy by the govt. Subsequently instead of death penalty put on the hugely popular game-show "the running man", which basically is a gladiator maze loaded with WWF-gone-Gyro-Gearloose characters. Ofc, Arnold gets to disorder their bodies from begining till end... and theres a girl. Not a very good film, but interesting enough. Regarding Arnolds performance as an actor, for him this isnt all that bad, but facing the fact that Arnold is perhaps the worst actor in the universe, this still isnt good. not recommended as such... except to die-hard tech-noir/cyber-punk fans, who want to see it all.
